Research Interests 

  • neural network and other adaptive techniques for image and signal processing with applications to neuro-fractal image compression and nonlinear, neural network based wavelet coding
  • medical imaging including image compression multimodal image registration, and the analysis of equine tendon sonograms
  • neural network architectures and other nonlinear, adaptive techniques for speech enhancement and noise reduction with applications to digital hearing aids
  • image mosaicing and 3D reconstruction from moving monocular video, work which has been applied to the USS Arizona shipwreck sunk at Pearl Harbor and published in the June 2001 issue of the National Geographic Magazine
